Today, meet Steven Gehlke, Nlets’ Information Security Administrator. He has been with Nlets for several years and shared his favorite part of working at Nlets (and so much more). 

Q.  What Are the Primary Responsibilities of Your Role? 

1. In my role, I focus mainly on our organization's internal security controls and security services initiatives. My typical day is more project oriented, working with various stakeholders, discussing, and implementing the various security controls in relation to the respective frameworks. You can find me either reviewing, auditing, implementing, requesting, and/or documenting one of the controls.

Q.  What is Your Favorite Part About Working at Nlets? Why? 

1. My favorite part is working with an awesome group of dedicated like-minded individuals at Nlets. The comradery amongst peers, coupled with the passion for serving our community is infectious. Furthermore, Nlets also does an awesome job at keeping their people caffeinated too!

Q.  When You Are Not at Work, What Do You Like to Do? Hobbies? Secret Talents? 

1. If I'm not at work, then you can catch me spending quality time with family.

Q.  Why Did You Initially Choose to Work at Nlets? How Did You Hear About It and What Has Kept You Here? 

1. Supporting law enforcement on a national level was appealing to me from the beginning. Initially, I started Nlets part-time as a Network Analyst. At the time I was looking to transition out of higher education. I was quick to make the transition when Nlets made an offer. The feeling of togetherness, not only from Nlets, but from all our partners in Law Enforcement is what keeps me here. Collectively we support a unified mission, that is impactful and meaningful on multiple levels.
