The Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (LETS) began operation. Punched paper tape switching equipment was installed at the Arizona Highway Patrol.

1970

We are now known as the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System - NLETS.  In 1970, NLETS, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware as a nonprofit.

1973

Nlets completed a massive upgrade and the system became accessible nationwide.

Nlets upgraded their system.

Nlets completed yet another system upgrade and moved into a state-of-the-art facility.

2009, 2010

In 2009 Nlets moved to a new and improved disaster recovery facility, modularized the message switch and upgraded to an MPLS network. In 2010 Nlets changed its name to The International Justice & Public Safety Network but kept the acronym Nlets.


Present

Nlets continues to operate as an international criminal justice and public safety information sharing hub.
